THIS WEEK…

  • Church Family Skating: at Milverton Arena on Wednesday, January 2 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Prices are: $5 per person for skating, $5 per person for hockey, $10 per person for playing hockey and skating, and $20 per family.
  • Jr. Youth Bible Study (Gr. 6-8) – will break until January 9th. See you in the New Year!
  • Girls club will be having a Christmas party at Amanda Cressman’s on Thursday January 3rd.  Meet at the church at 6:30 or call Heather, Jane, or Donna for a ride.
  • Reminder to the Nominating Committee that we are meeting Thurs. Jan. 3 at 7:30p.m for Count Me In.

  • Sunday Evening – January 13th, 7:30 p.m. Family Movie Night. Come out to see “The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry”, an inspiring film for everyone!

  • Dec. 31, 8:00 p.m. at Milverton Mennonite Fellowship – New Year’s Eve Celebration; come enjoy a toe-tapping Gospel Concert featuring “Kingsway Quartet” and “Rescue Junction” with a DESSERT EXTRAVAGANZA (fruit trays too) at Intermission.  Pat Murphy from “Joyful Country” will be Master of Ceremonies.  Admission is free – freewill offering to cover expenses, No receipts given.
  •  Adult’s Winter Retreat – January 29 – 31, 2013 at Silver Lake Mennonite Camp.  Contact the camp for more information – 519-422-3200 or rebekah@slmc.ca

  • The Elder Review Team is pleased to announce that Delmer & Eleanor Jantzi and Josh & Missy Gerber, have been strongly affirmed, to begin their new ministries as elders at Maple View.
  • Blankets Needed!  On January 8, 2013, MCC Ontario will be loading and shipping a container destined for Lebanon.  We are in need of approximately 120 blankets to finish filling the container. If you have any completed blankets, please deliver them to the Material Resources Centre or your local MCC office prior to January 2, 2013. Thank you!

  • Christmas Praise Celebration ~ Tonight, 7:30 pm.  We will be having cookies and refreshments after the program.  Please bring a little extra so that we will have enough to share with any guests that might be joining us.  There will be an offering for the House of Blessing. Note: this night is also when the Jr. Sunday school department is doing their program.

  • MYF Christmas Caroling: Wednesday Dec. 19. Meet at the church at 6:30pm. No bible study. Also caroling on Friday the 21st and the 22nd if necessary. Details to follow on those dates.

  • Christmas can be a painful time for some. It may be the first Christmas without loved family members who have recently died. It may be a time that has always been difficult.  For Those Reasons, St Mark’s Lutheran Church & Wellesley Mennonite Church are offering a community “Longest Night“ Service on December 21st at 7:30 PM @ St Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1123 Henry St; Wellesley.   • The elder nomination team is pleased to announce that the following individuals that were strongly nominated have consented to serve as elders. Delmar Jantzi for a 3 year term and Josh Gerber as a 2 year term as youth elder. There will be an opportunity to affirm them through a ballet today.

  • We will be collecting long underwear, socks and gloves  for the out of the cold until Sunday December 23.   Out of the cold also needs any baked goods.  Please put them in the church kitchen by December 23, 2012.
