Peace Camp 2013 – Registration Deadline Extended! There are still spots available for Peace Camp 2013! Peace Camp brings together youth who are ages 11-14 for a week of sports, arts, guest speakers, and field trips that teach them everything they need to about peacebuilding, surrounding the theme “Local Actions with Global Impact.” Located at Conrad Grebel University College, 140 Westmount Road North in Waterloo, camp runs Monday to Friday, July 29 to August 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $175 (lunch included). Our 47th Annual Hidden Acres Chicken BBQ was a success this year with 1,080 meals and many ice cream cones served on a beautiful spring night, raising $7000 towards Hidden Acres summer camp programs. We could not do this without the many volunteers who help with this event and the many community members who attend, thank you! The 7th annual pie auction raised a record $3780 towards capital projects, with the top pie selling for $400! A big thank you to those who donated pies and to those who bid on them!

Menno Homes offers affordable housing for low income families. Construction of building a duplex for two large families at 146 David Street in Wellesley is now underway. Occupancy is planned for September 2013. This is an opportunity  to do mission work in our own backyard. They are in need of Skilled and unskilled labours immediately. There is a box in the foyer  today to donate money as well.
