LOOKING AHEAD…

  • Everyone is invited to attend a Spring Bible School at Maple View Mennonite Church on Saturday, April 6 from 1-4pm and Saturday April 13 from 1-4pm. Dr. David Sloss will be the speaker and will be speaking on “Looking at a Hebraic Understanding Of Scripture”. Anyone interested in more information can take home a brochure from the coffee table in the lobby.

  • Springfest: A Full Day of Family Fun – Join us on Saturday, April 6 from 9am to 3pm for the Stratford & District Christian School’s annual SpringFest event. The events being offered this year include: hot air balloon rides (weather permitting), silent auction, mom to mom sale (donations can be dropped off at the school), baking & floral sale, clay & craft workshop, face painting, cookie decorating, bouncy castle, obstacle course, games, food, cotton candy, popcorn and candy table. Entry is free. Tokens are available for food and games.
  • Tuesday April 9, Mennonite Savings & Credit Union 49th Annual General Meeting – Stories of Social Justice – hear more about MSCU’s Faith & Finances Families and preview an excerpt from Theatre of Beat’s newest production.   • This coming May, Joel Nafziger along with others from Pacific Life Bible College will be travelling to Grenada on a missions trip. They will be spending time in the streets doing evangelism, encouraging the churches in the community, and assisting in the construction of a much needed Sunday school building. Support is much needed and appreciated in the form of prayer for the team, and the citizens of Grenada. Financial support will also be appreciated, as the trip itself will cost $2,800 for Joel to go.     It’s that time of year once again!  A special welcome to families!  What a neat opportunity to come together, have fun and meet a need at the same time! A quilt will also be set up for any ladies who would like to contribute in that way. Refreshments will be provided.

  • Sunday, March 17, 7:30 pmSeeking God’s direction:Prayer and Discussion about the future of Maple View’s mission relationships on Manitoulin Island and Thunder Bay.  Have you ever been part of a trip to one of these First Nations communities?  Please come and share your insights!  If you have never been personally involved, you are also invited to come, pray with us, and help us discern how God is leading.  A guide for the evening is being distributed through church mailboxes, with extra copies available.
  • MYF Progressive Supper – The MYF is looking for volunteers to host a section of the progressive supper happening on Friday, March 22.

  • Music at Maple View – Appreciation and Vision! Tuesday, April 16, 7:30 pm.   • Attention Jr. Youth, MYF to Adult. On Monday, March 11at 7pm at Wellesley Mennonite Church, The King’s Song, The Only Weapon  you Need will be performed by SPIRIT BORNE. Spirit Borne is the performing arts and discipleship expression of Quinte Youth For Christ/Youth Unlimited. This group is made up of 42 high school students.  Free will offering will be taken to cover the costs of the travelling team.  Light refreshments to follow.   • March 16: Saturday at 8:30 am:  5th Annual Peace and Justice Community Breakfast at Steinman Mennonite Church.  This year’s theme is  “Why Climate Change is a Justice Issue”   The featured speaker will be Willard Metzger, Executive Director of Mennonite Church Canada and Representative to the UN Climate Change Forum.  Admission is by donation.   • MCC Congregational Representative GatheringSaturday, March 23, 8 am, Calvary United Church, 48 Hawkesville Road, St. Jacobs. Join us for the Meat Canner Breakfast (tickets on us!) and stay for an hour of resourcing and discernment on strengthening connections between MCC and your congregation.   • If you would like to make a donation toward famine relief for the village of Belhar, Myanmar, please place cash or a cheque made out to “Ching Jehu Lian” in the donation box at the back of the sanctuary.  We are not able issue charitable receipts for these gifts.
  • Volunteer Opportunities at Nithview Community! Many of the programs offered at Nithview would not be possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers.
