You are invited to a Skatelife coffee house and info night! Tuesday July 30. Dwight Jantzi, along with fellow Skatelife staff Jordan Smail and Caleb Elias, will be hosting an information night so you can learn all about how Skatelife reaches adolescent skateboarders with the gospel.  There will be coffee, tea, and treats at this free event and you can drop by the Maple room here at Mapleview anytime between 7:00-9:30pm.  Come prepared to enjoy yourself, hang out, meet new people, and learn more about skateboarding ministry in our community as well as across Canada.  Hope to see you there!

Maple View Mennonite Church is hosting a LOVE & RESPECT VIDEO CONFERENCE on November 8 & 9. Love best motivates a woman and respect most powerfully motivates a man. Though we all need love and respect equally, the felt need differs during conflict, and this difference is as different as pink is from blue. Married couples and singles are all welcome to attend. INFORMATION…

The Care Circle is looking for volunteers to provide rides on Sunday mornings to church, twice a month for Ray Erb.  If you would be interested in helping in this way, please contact Norma Steinmann.

Prayer partners needed for Manitoulin team members – Your job as a prayer partner will be to pray for one team member each day while the team is away (August 4-9). Please talk to Christine to be paired up with a team member. A great way to be involved in God’s work!

Adult Sunday School Teachers: Do you have the gift of teaching or know someone who does? There is an Input Form available on the shelf in front of the mailboxes if you didn’t get one in Sunday School class. Looking for teacher nominations, volunteers, input, including “exploring” teaching or shorter term engagements e.g.”snowbird season”. Please return to Murray Bender, Wayne Nafziger or Jonathan Koch by next Sunday August 4th.

One-on-one male respite worker for a thirteen year old male with Aspergers Syndrome is needed a few hours a week for “hanging out” in informal social situations (e.g. driving range, ball games, going for burgers, visiting John Deere dealers etc.)  A small financial recompense is available. Contact Brent Kipfer for further information.

Would you like to donate money towards the VBS Play Centre Project?  Two Play Centre’s are being donated from Maple View Vacation Bible School to the Menno Homes project in Wellesley.  The structures were put together by the Grade 7 & 8 students and leaders from this past VBS. Any contributions can be placed in the box by the “God’s Sightings” wall in foyer or placed in the offering during the service, marked “VBS Play Centre Project.”  Thank-you

Alberta Floods:   MDS is active in Southern Alberta helping to muck out flooded homes.  We have teams in Medicine Hat, High River, and some in Calgary.  Day by day more home owners have been allowed to go home, and they are now facing the destruction and loss head on.  Volunteers are much needed immediately.  Limited RV parking and some accommodation may be available for volunteers.   Call the Alberta Volunteer Coordinator to volunteer at 587-216-6169 or the Winnipeg office at  866-261-1274.  Donations can be sent to the Winnipeg office 6A-1325 Markham Rd, Winnipeg, MB R3T 4J6

Shekinah:  Thanks to the MDS folks in Saskatchewan who responded quickly to MC Saskatchewan’s Camp Shekinah when they were flooded.  Volunteers worked together with camp staff to clean out, gut, and rebuild the facility to allow summer camp to begin on schedule.
